Muddifords Court Wedding in Devon – Abi & Andy
Great to return as wedding photographer to the beautiful Muddifords Court in Devon. A lovely location and not too far from home. Spring had not quite sprung but it was a typical April day, although the month turned out to be an untypical April. Not great for gardeners but fantastic for sun worshippers! The start of the day had a threat of rain and it poured down on the way to the ceremony but got better as the day went on until we had a marvellous sunny afternoon.
It was great to meet up with Abi & Andy again. We had met up a little earlier in the year for a pre-wedding shoot at Andy’s primary school and cricket club in Somerset. Abi was getting ready in the Chestnut suite in the main house. The room is pretty impressive with a four poster bed and an equally impressive bathroom with a free standing bath! Within the suite the bride was getting ready along with her bridesmaids, mum, pageboy and flower-girl. It was very hectic with lots of nervous energy. As the ceremony approached the anticipation grew and the rain began to fall. Luckily there is a way through to the ceremony room without getting wet. The ceremony was held in the cider barn which is complete with cider press. All the the guests were seated and Andy was waiting at the end of the aisle for Abi to arrive. He was also very relaxed and appeared chilled out with his best-man, who had traveled all the way from Australia. Abi looked beautiful as she walked down the aisle with her proud father. After the ceremony the couple, along with their guests, relaxed in the courtyard before we headed off for some group and couple shots.
The wedding breakfast was held in the large barn, The Shippen. The food was lovely and very much enjoyed, thank you! The speeches are a favourite time to capture some fun moments and laughter. All signs of the rain had vanished by the time the wedding breakfast had finished and we were treated with some lovely evening spring sunshine. After cutting the cake the couple took to the dance floor for their first dance. As always the party was starting when it was time for us to depart.
Thank you for making us feel very welcome and thanks again for feeding us. It was very much appreciated.
Talk to you soon.
Anthony & James.
